About Champion Briefs

Picture of Andrew

Hi, I'm Andrew!

When I was in high school, I was the shy kid who sat in the back of the class and never raised my hand. That all changed when I discovered debate.

I fell in love with debate because I enjoyed researching topics and crafting powerful arguments. I soon realized that debate taught me invaluable skills like critical thinking, persuasive speaking, and confidence—skills that would shape the rest of my life.

Debate is a transformative activity, and I founded Champion Briefs over a decade ago to help other students experience its life-changing benefits. Since then, we've reached tens of thousands of students at thousands of schools across the country.

Our team of dedicated coaches and debate alumni work tirelessly to help students explore and understand the world. We invite you to try our debate topic briefs and other offerings. Let’s continue sharing the magic of debate, together.

What We Offer

Champion Briefs is a debate resource provider dedicated to helping more students experience the transformative power of speech and debate.

For more than a decade, Champion Briefs has created monthly briefings for Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas topics featuring original analysis, cited evidence, and comprehensive information to help students and coaches prepare for debates and learn about the world. Each brief is hundreds of pages long and provides a starting point for students to master the debate topic. All of our briefs include:

  • Varied perspectives from expert writers
  • 3-5 in-depth topic analyses
  • Hundreds of pieces of evidence, cited and sorted by argument
  • Peer-reviewed and edited guidance
  • Background information and topic framing

Our PF and LD briefs are available as one-file purchases or at a highly discounted rate for school-year subscriptions.

In addition to our briefs, we also offer free video topic analyses of every NSDA Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas topic. We also provide free articles that help students understand how topics fit into the larger context of the world around them. All of that content can be found on the Free Resources page of our site.

We believe in the transformative power of debate, not just as a competitive activity but as a lifelong skill that molds critical thinkers and eloquent speakers. That’s why our team, comprised of debate educators and alumni, works tirelessly to ensure that every resource we provide is accurate, relevant, and instructive.

We're passionate about fostering the next generation of well-informed, articulate, and persuasive speakers. Students who use Champion Briefs win more debate rounds, but they also learn critical thinking skills and worldly knowledge that will last a lifetime.
